Stir up a complex variation on this classic cocktail!
In a mixing glass combine:
- 2 oz Rye or Bourbon Whiskey
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 1 half dropper of Coffee & Cacao bitters (try another variation by using a combination of both the Coffee & Cacao bitters with Spiced Orange bitters for even more complexity)
Stir the above with ice, strain in a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a brandied cherry at the bottom of the glass, and if desired add an expressed orange peel to the rim.
*”expressed orange peel”: take a strip of orange peel, and squeeze the peel in half above the drink to release the oil from the peel, then drop the peel into the glass!
